The Old New York Times Building - ca. 1871

The New York Times Building (41 Park Row) in front of the Printing House Square, with the old Tribune Building, on the left, and the Evening Mail in the back. The New York Times Building, the most prominent edifice on the square, was completed in 1858. It was the same site of the old Brick Presbyterian Church. Illustration from the book Lights and Shadows of New York Life... by James Dabney McCabe, published in 1872. The monument to Benjamin Franklin, unveiled on January 17, 1872, is not in the illustration.
