The State of Rio Grande do Norte lies in the northeastern region of Brazil, in northeasternmost tip of South America. It has a hot, humid tropical climate in the coast, while a good part of the interior has a quite arid climate. The capital is Natal. Rio Grande do Norte has borders with the states of Ceará and Paraíba.
