The 13-story Mutual Reserve Building, at 305 Broadway, northwest corner of Duane Street (on the left), was built for the Mutual Reserve Fund Life Association and completed by September, 1894. The architect was W.H. Hume, who also designed the Hotel Netherland. In 1908, the company filed for bankruptcy. Later, the building was known as the Langdon Building.
