The old seven-story Calvert Building, former Stuart House, was erected in the early 1890s. The hotel closed in 1921 and became an office building with stores in the ground floor. In 1951, it was replaced by the 16-story 8 Times Square at 1460 Broadway. Feltman & Curme Shoe Stores Co. and Schwartz Bros. Diamonds and Watches stores on ground floor, adjoining Doyle's Billiards.
