Chrysler Building - Vintage Images

The Chrysler Building is an art deco skyscraper built between September 1928 and 1930 (completed on May 27). Its  stainless steel spire is a remarkable feature on the Manhattan skyline.

It was briefly the tallest building in the world at 318.8 meters until it was surpassed by the Empire State Building, completed in 1931. It is located at 405 Lexington Avenue, between East 42nd Street and E 43rd Street.
