Times Square, New York City - 1923

Times Building, erected in 1904, is in the distance. The New York Times sold its tower in Times Square in 1961. The Hotel Astor, on the right, between West 44th Street and W 45th Street, was built in 1904 and demolished in 1967 to make way for the Minskoff Building. Loew's State Theatre (opened on August 29, 1921), Metro Pictures Corporation is on the left. Outdoors, traffic of streetcars, cars, shops, hotels pedestrians etc.
