Carnegie Hall is a historic concert venue in Midtown Manhattan located at 881 Seventh Avenue, between 56th and 57th streets. It opened in 1891 and was designated a U.S. National Historic Landmark in 1962. The Carnegie Hall has three auditoriums: the Stern Auditorium, a five-story auditorium with 2,804 seats; the Zankel Hall, with 599 seats and the intimate Joan and Sanford I. Weill Recital Hall, with 268 seats. The Hall was owned by the Carnegie family until 1925, after that Robert E. Simon and then his son, Robert E. Simon Jr., became owner.
