The Bowery and Chinatown - about 1927
The Bowery, west side, south from but not including Canal Street. General view southwestward from the Manhattan Bridge, approach of the City Hall Zone. Depicted prominently of which are the Singer Building, Municipal Building, Woolworth Building and the County Court House. Tenement houses intervening between the foreground and background comprise a locality known as Chinatown, of which the Thalia Theater with the Atlantic Gardens adjoining (Photo Studio) was a well known landmark.
