Broadway and Bowling Green - 1910

Photograph by Thaddeus Wilkerson, NYC, published in a vintage postcard dated 1910. The German Theodor Eismann established his publishing business in 1884, in Germany. In the early 20th century, his company had a branch in New York City.

Photograph taken from State Street, with Battery Place and Washington Building (1 Broadway) in the foreground (left). Bowling Green marks the beginning of Broadway. The Park was created in the 18th century. The Produce Exchange Bank Building, on the right, was completed in 1905. The Columbia Building at 29 Broadway on the north side of Morris Street, was completed in 1891 and expanded in 1909. Singer Building was completed in 1908.
