Broadway, West Side. Houston to Bleecker St. - 1899
Image depicts buildings on the west side of old Broadway, New York City, from Houston Street to Bleecker Street.
The 625 Broadway building was erected in 1896. In 1862, the 37th annual exhibition of the National Academy of Design, was held in the Institute of Fine Arts, located in the same site.

Prior to the 1870s, most hotels, restaurants, theaters and stores of any distinction in Manhattan were still below Houston Street.
