Wall Street between 1873 and 1887

The Drexel Building, on the left, was built in 1873 for Drexel Morgan & Co., succeeded by J.P.Morgan & Co. in 1895. The building was demolished before 1914.

Wall Street was paved with cobblestones. Asphalt pavement was laid down in 1890. Utility poles (seen here) were taken down after the Blizzard of 1888.
