The Triborough Bridge opened on July 11, 1936. It was renamed Robert F. Kennedy Bridge on November 19, 2008. It is in fact a complex of bridges and elevated expressway viaducts in New York City, including: the vertical-lift bridge over the Harlem River, connecting Manhattan Island to Randalls Island; the truss bridge over Bronx Kill, connecting Randalls Island to the Bronx and the suspension bridge over Hell Gate, connecting Wards Island to Astoria in Queens.
The Hell Gate Bridge, on the right, opened in 1917, linking the neighborhood of Astoria to Randall's Island and Ward's Island.
