Soho Grand Hotel
The Soho Grand Hotel is located at 310 West Broadway, between Grand and Canal streets, in SoHo, Lower Manhattan. It opened on August 4, 1996, and has 353 guest rooms, including ten suites and two penthouses.
Soho Grand Hotel and the Roxy Hotel (formerly the Tribeca Grand Hotel) at 2 6th Avenue, form the GrandLife Hotels, owned and operated by the Hartz Mountain Industries of Secaucus, N.J.
The Soho Grand Hotel stands on the site of the old Church of St. Alphonsus Liguori, dedicated in 1872 and demolished in 1981. Hartz bought the property in 1988, but the plot sat vacant until the construction of the Soho Grand Hotel, which was announced in 1994, began the following year and was completed in 1996.
The 16-story red-brick building was designed by architect David Helpern and interiors by William Sofield of Studio Sofield. In 2004, the hotel introduced two penthouse loft suites. In 2013, the hotel unleashed a dog park. Other facilities include the Club Room, Grand Bar & Lounge, a gallery, the Castelli Room for events and Grand Bar & Salon.
