Thompson Central Park New York
The Thompson Central Park New York at 119 West 56th Street, Midtown Manhattan. The 42-story hotel building houses 587 rooms, restaurants, a gym and retailers. It is operated by Hyatt.
The hotel opened in March, 1981, as the Hotel Parker Meridien New York. The hotel was developed by the New York-based Jack Parker Corporation and originally managed by Air France's Meridien Hotels. It was designed by architect Philip Birnbaum (1907-1996).
The hotel was later renamed Le Parker Méridien New York. The hotel left Le Méridien in January 2018, and it was renamed Parker New York Hotel. GFI Capital Resources Group and Elliott Management Corporation purchased the hotel in 2019. The hotel joined the Thompson Hotels division of Hyatt as Thompson Central Park New York on November 1, 2021. In September 2024, Gencom bought the hotel.
Among the facilities there is a barbershop, makeup salon, spa, rooftop pool and Burger Joint, which opened in 2002. The hotel is a short walk to Carnegie Hall, MoMA and Central Park.
