The original structure of the Pennsylvania Station (also known as simply Penn Station) is in the center. It was completed in 1910. Its above-ground portions were demolished in 1963 for the construction of the Madison Square Garden, completed in 1968.
The Empire State Building and Chrysler Building are on the top of the photo. The New Yorker Hotel (center left), opened in 1930, at 481 Eighth Avenue, is on the left.
