Broadway, Dey to Barclay Streets - 1843

 

View of buildings on west side Broadway, from near Dey Street to Barclay Street, looking north about 1843. Hand colored lithograph by John Henry Bufford (1810–1870). The St. Paul's Chapel is in the center, between Fulton and Vesey streets. It was completed in 1790, being the oldest temple in Manhattan.

The Astor House is on the right, between Barclay and Vesey streets, It occupied the entire block front. The hotel opened in 1836 and was demolished in the early 20th century. Continue below...

 

 

Atwill's Music Saloon, Pianoforte Warehouse is at 201 Broadway, on the left. The T.L. Chester & Co. and Carpet Store are at 203 Broadway. Stebbins & Co. Jewelers' is at 207 Broadway, corner of Fulton St.
