The 18-story tower (1 Wall Street), nicknamed the "Chimney Building" is on the left, on the southeast corner of Wall Street. This and adjoining buildings were demolished in 1929 to make way for the 50-story One Wall Street.
The cupola of the Manhattan Life Insurance Company, located at 64 to 68 Broadway, can be partially seen on the left. It was completed in 1894 and was once the tallest building in New York City.
On west side Broadway, we can see the Washington Building (1 Broadway) and the adjoining 16-story Bowling Green Offices, at 11 Broadway, completed in 1898, both buildings facing Bowling Green.
The Columbia Building, at 29 Broadway, on the northwest corner of Morris Street, was erected in 1891 and expanded in 1909. The Hamburg-American Building, former Aldrich Court at 45 Broadway, was completed in 1887 and demolished in 1982. The 21-story Empire Building, corner Rector Street (right), was completed in 1898.
