The Brooklyn Bridge terminal opened in 1883 and it was later expanded. Centre Street is in the foreground. Chambers Street is on the left, today part of the site of the Municipal Building. The Park Row, Printing House Square and City Hall Park are to the right. The old New Yorker Staats-Zeitung building, completed in 1873, is in the center.
