Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, Central Park influenced the development of urban parks in the United States of America and is widely regarded a masterpiece of landscape architecture. In 1963, it is a National Historic Landmark and a Scenic Landscape of the City of New York, in 1974.
