View from Park Row side. This historic City Hall palace opened in 1812. The original copper roof of City Hall was replaced in 1853, but it was partly destroyed by fire in 1858. Today the City Hall is a living museum, designated a national historic landmark in 1960.

The Postal Telegraph Building and the Home Life Building (on the left, on Broadway) were constructed between 1892 to 1894.
