New York City Hall - 1900

View from Park Row side. This historic City Hall building was completed in 1812. The original copper roof of City Hall was replaced in 1853, but it was partly destroyed by fire in 1858. Today the City Hall is a living museum, designated a national historic landmark in 1960.

City Hall
Enlargement of the old domed clock tower. It was rebuilt in 1917. The old National Shoe & Leather Bank building (behind City Hall) was completed in 1893. On the right stands the Broadway-Chambers Building, completed in 1900.
