The 13-story building at 156 Fifth Avenue was erected in 1894, on the northwest corner of 20th Street.
The 9-story Mohawk Building, at 160 Fifth Avenue, southwest corner of 21st Street, was erected by the firm E. H. Van Ingen & Co., importers of woolens, principally for its own use. It was completed in 1892.
