Hotel Netherland, New York - about 1911
The Hotel Netherland, New York City in the early 20th century. It was located at the northeast corner of 5th Avenue and 59th Street, in Manhattan, near Central Park. The building was completed in 1893 with 17 stories. It was claimed the tallest hotel in the world. In the same year, the original Waldorf Hotel opened its doors. The Hotel Netherland building was demolished in 1926 and replaced by the Sherry-Netherland Hotel.
