Shelton Hotel - about 1926
The Shelton at 525 Lexington Avenue, between East 48th Street and East 49th Street, Midtown Manhattan. After 1990, the hotel was renamed New York Marriott East Side.
The Shelton was designed by architect Arthur Loomis Harmon and opened in 1924. It is considered the first building to effectively incorporate the requirements of the 1916 Zoning Resolution in NYC.
