Vanderbilt Hotel on Park Avenue - about 1960

 

Vanderbilt Hotel opened its doors in 1912 on 4th Avenue (Park Avenue after 1924), designed by architects Warren & Wetmore, and closed in 1965. The lower façade of the hotel was stripped away and the building was converted to residential apartments and offices.

 

Manger Vanderbilt Hotel

The old Vanderbilt Hotel on Park Avenue, north from 33rd Street, about the early 1960s, then the Manger Vanderbilt Hotel. Vintage postcard published by Travel Literature Assoc., postmark 1961. Additional text: 600 outside rooms with bath and radio; most air conditioned - all with television.
