The Pulitzer Fountain in Grand Army Plaza, Fifth Avenue and 58th Street, seen from 59th Street, in 1925. Vanderbilt House is in the background (demolished in 1926). Plaza Hotel is to the right. This ornamental fountain was built with funds left by Joseph Pulitzer (1947-1911) and installed in 1916. It was originally planned, in the 1860s, to be installed in the Sherman Monument's place.
