Projected Pulitzer Building / World Building - 1890

Construction of the 18-story World Building began in October 1889. It was completed in 1890 and demolished in 1955. It was the tallest building in New York City until 1894, when it was surpassed by the Manhattan Life Building. At the time, the newspaper was run by Joseph Pulitzer (1847-1911).
