American Surety Building, Skyscrapers in Manhattan 1931
Photo shows the American Surety Building (later Bank of Tokyo), 100 Broadway, and other buildings around it in Lower Manhattan. View across Trinity Church yard, with the historic temple at right. The American Surety Building was completed in 1896, on the corner of Pine Street (on the left). An extension to it was constructed between 1920 and 1922, on the site of the old Schermerhorn Building (96 Broadway). Two floors were also added.
The United Bank Building, is at right (10-story with a mansard roof added sometime after 1910). The Irving Trust Building, One Wall St., completed in 1931, is on the right.
