The first headquarters of The NY Times was at 113 Nassau Street. The newspaper moved to 138 Nassau Street in 1854. In 1858, the New York Times Building was completed at 41 Park Row. This building shaped the old City Hall Square, which was renamed soon after Printing House Square.
It was expanded to 13-story building, designed by George B. Post in Romanesque revival style and completed in 1889. This building faced the old Printing House Square.
The New York Times Building at Times Square was erected in 1904 and the old Long Acre Square received the name of the newspaper in the same year. In 1913, the New York Times moved into the Times Annex at 229 West 43rd Street, which was enlarged twice later. By 1999, the Times operated at six locations in Manhattan and had a printing plant in Queens.
Construction of the new New York Times Building at 620 Eighth Avenue began in August 2004 and was completed in June 2007.
