The Times Square section, aerial view. Hand-colored photo in a vintage postcard by Fairchild A.C. Corporation, postmark May 25, 1922. Text on print: "This aerial photograph of the Times Square Section shows many of the skyscraper office buildings located in the heart of New York. Among the best known are the Times Building, the Bush Terminal Building [on the right, completed in 1918 with frontages in both W 41st Street and W 42nd St.], the recently completed Loew's State Theatre [1540 Broadway, which opened on August 9th 1921], and the famous Hotel Astor on Broadway", between 44th Street and 45th Street, opened in September, 1904. The Times Annex (229 West 43rd Street), seen prior to expansion, opened in 1913 and expanded later in three stages.
