Old Times Square - 1948
The old Times Square, junction of Broadway and Seventh Avenue, looking north toward Seventh Avenue, with the Loew's State in the center. Photo taken in the second half of 1948 and published in a vintage postcard.
Tap Roots was presented in the Loew's Criterion on the right. This film, with Van Heflin and Susan Hayward, was released on August 25, 1948. On the Astor Roof, on the left, between 44th Street and 45th Street, two musical attractions were presented in September 1948: the Blue Barron and his orchestra and the Three Suns.
