Broadway from Union Square Park to Madison Square

Union Square received its name by 1832. In 1842, a fountain was built in the center. It is home to some historic monuments, the Lincoln Monument, dedicated in 1870, and the George Washington monument, dedicated in 1856. On July 4, 1930, the Independence Flagstaff (on the right) was dedicated.
