Bethesda Terrace, Central Park - about 1880
The Bethesda Terrace in Central Park. Bethesda Terrace is located at the north end of the promenade known as the Mall and overlooks the Ramble and the Lake. At the center of the Terrace stands the Bethesda Fountain, one of the Park’s most beautiful piece of art. The Terrace was designed by architect and Park co-designer Calvert Vaux with his assistant, Jacob Wrey Mould.
