Empire State Building and Midtown Manhattan

The 34-story 1 Rockefeller Plaza office building, located between 48th and 49th streets (indicated in the photograph above) was under construction and was completed in 1937. Broadway is on the left, Fifth Avenue is in the center and Central Park is seen in the distance. The Art Deco Chrysler Building and the Waldorf Astoria hotel are on the right.
