Hotel Bristol on Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street - 1929
The old eight-story Hotel Bristol on Fifth Avenue, northwest corner of 42nd Street on August 15, 1929, before demolition. Built as a family hotel about 1877, it was converted later in an office building, sometimes called Bristol Building. Tenants were evicted next November and it was demolished in December of 1929. It was replaced by the 60-story Art Deco 500 Fifth Avenue.
The 31-story Salmon Tower Building, completed in 1928, is in the background.
