The old Plaza Hotel seen from 5th Avenue in a photograph copyrighted in 1894 by J.S. Johnston. The West 59th Street is on the right. The original Plaza Hotel opened its doors in 1890 and was turn down, in 1905, to make way for the present Plaza Hotel. Source: New York Public Library.
