Hotel Vanderbilt on Park Avenue - 1925
Park Avenue, west side, looking south from 34th Street (not included in this photo). The Hotel Vanderbilt is on the right. The old Park Avenue Hotel, demolished about 1926, is about the center of this photo. This part of Park Avenue was under renovation in 1919.
Hotel Vanderbilt opened its doors in 1912 and it was closed in 1965. Then, part of the building was converted into residential apartments. The other part was offices and stores. The original Della Robbia restaurant was of especial interest. Part of it has survived to the present and its beautiful architecture can still be seen.
