High view of buildings on Broadway, Lower Manhattan. Trinity
Church (left), the American Surety Building (finishing construction), the United
States Bank Building, the Union Trust Company Building, the
Manhattan Life Building (right), and the
Consolidated Exchange Building. Only two buildings still stand today: Trinity
Church and the American Surety Building, that incorporates Greek elements such
as the Ionic
entrance colonnade and the classical sculptural figures.
