Trinity Church and Wall Street - 1870s

New Street intersects at the left. Buildings were three to six stories high. Trinity Church was the tallest structure in New York City and its clock read 9:40 in the morning.
Wall Street was paved with cobblestones. Asphalt pavement was laid down later in 1890. On the left, the three-story lateral extension of the first New York Stock Exchange building at 13 Wall Street.
Stock brokers Taylor Brothers office is on the left at 17 Wall Street, next to Duff and Tienken, gold brokers at 15 Wall Street, three-story building, established in 1870 or before.
