Engraving of the old Wall Street, looking west toward the Trinity Church on Broadway. Original title: Trinity and Wall Street Churches. Source: Duer's Old Yorker collection, New York Public Library.

This drawing can be dated about the early 19th century. The First Presbyterian Church (spire represented to the right of Trinity Church) was founded in 1716, as a Presbyterian Meeting. It was rebuilt in 1811 and destroyed by the Great Fire on 1835. The second temple of Trinity Church was completed in 1890 and was demolished in 1839. The Gothic temple was consecrated in 1846. Engraver and Exchange Office is on the corner on the left.
