Plymouth Theatre presents the comedy Romanoff and Juliet by Peter Ustinov. This play premiered in Manchester, England in 1956. The Broadway production by David Merrick, directed by George S. Kaufman, opened on 10 October 1957 and ran for 389 performances.
At the Royale Theatre (now Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre), on the right, Laurence Olivier is playing The Entertainer, which opened in February 1958.
Plymouth Theatre opened on October 10, 1917, with the comedy A Successful Calamity by Clare Kummer, with William Gillette in the leading role). The theater was designed by Herbert J. Krapp, leased and managed by producer Arthur M. Hopkins.
