The Standard Oil Tower, at 26 Broadway, was under construction (it was completed before the end of 1924). At the time New York was the world’s largest City and was still booming. The Woolworth Building, completed in 1913 at 233 Broadway, with a height of 241 meters, was the tallest building in the world. The 1924 presidential election was won by Republican Calvin Coolidge.
