Worth Square and a memorial to General William Jenkins Worth (1794-1849) is in the foreground. It was dedicated on November 25, 1857, being the second-oldest in New York City after the 1856 George Washington equestrian monument at the southern end of Union Square. The Madison Square Park is to the right. Berlitz School of Languages at 1 West 25th Street. The spire of Marble Collegiate Church is seen on the west side of 5th Avenue. The New York Times Building was under construction (top left corner). It was completed in the late 1904.
