Fifth Avenue from Start to Finish - 1911: Lenox Library, East 71st Street

Lenox Library (on the right) was founded in 1870 by James Lenox. It had an impressive collection of bibles, including the first Gutenberg Bible to enter The United States.  The building, completed in 1877, was destructed in 1912. The Richard Morris Hunt Memorial is in front of Lenox Library, Central Park side.
