Mandarin Oriental
The Mandarin Oriental is a luxury hotel located in the Deutsche Bank Center at One Columbus Circle, facing Central Park, New York City. It opened in February 2004 and is operated by Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. The hotel has 248 guestrooms and suites, and provides services for 64 residences.
The 55-story Deutsche Bank Center, originally AOL Time Warner Center, is a mixed-use twin tower building, which occupies the western side of Columbus Circle. It was developed by The Related Companies and Apollo Global Management, designed by David Childs and Mustafa Kemal Abadan of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.
The Mandarin Oriental is housed from 35 through 54 floors in the north tower of the Deutsche Bank Center. The interior design were by Hirsch Bedner Associates, except for the Asiate restaurant, which was designed by Tony Chi. The entrance to the hotel is from 60th Street, where there are elevators to the lobby. Each of the guest rooms has a different set of decorations with Asian artwork and color schemes, as well as full-height windows. Both towers contain residences. They begin 24 stories above ground in the south tower and 37 stories above ground in the north tower.
The facilities of the hotel include the Asiate restaurant, the Forbes Five-Star spa, fitness center, banquet rooms, ballrooms and more.
