Connecticut
Connecticut is a state in the Northeastern coast of the United States of America. It was named after the Connecticut River.
Human presence in the Connecticut region dates back to about 10,000 years ago. European settlement in the region dates back to the 17th century. Hartford is the capital of Connecticut and the center of the state’s largest metropolitan area. Bridgeport is the largest city. Connecticut is bordered by the states of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York and the Long Island Sound to the south.
Connecticut has forested hills, great urban skylines, shoreline beaches, white-steeple colonial churches, and historic village greens. It also offers many cultural attractions-theater, opera, ballet, concerts, and a number of nationally ranked museums and art galleries. Connecticut offers four seasons of entertainment, from summer days kayaking on Long Island Sound to hiking the trails with the colors of fall, to cross-country skiing, to celebrating spring at one of the many festivals that take place throughout the state.
