Rossmore and Metropole Hotels on Broadway - 1904
Buildings on west side Broadway, looking south from 42nd Street in 1904. Times Building is under construction to the right. Broadway Theatre, which opened in 1888, is on the southwest corner of West 41st Street. It was demolished in 1929. The old 7-story Rossmore Hotel, opened in 1876. The old Metropole Hotel on the south side of 42nd St. was demolished in 1909 to make way for the projected Heidelberg Building, which was never built.
