New York Stock Exchange Building on Broad Street - Early 20th Century

This is the heart of the Financial District of New York. The Gillender Building, on the northwest corner of Wall Street and Nassau Street was completed in 1897 and demolished in 1910. The Wilks Building on the southwest corner of Broad Street and Wall Street, was completed in 1890 and demolished in 1920. The present neoclassic building of the New York Stock Exchange, facing Broad Street, was finished in 1903. The 22-story Commercial Cable Company Building, completed in 1897, is on the left
