Ace Hotel
The Ace Hotel New York, former Hotel Breslin, is located on Broadway at 20 West 29th Street, NoMad neighborhood, New York City. The hotel is house in the historic building, completed in 1904.
Since about 1882, James H. Breslin & Bro. were the proprietors of the historic Gilsey House, which opened in 1871 across the West 29th Street. In 1903, James H. Breslin bought the old Sturtevant House, which also opened in 1871, on the southeast corner of Broadway and West 29th Street, at 1186 Broadway. The 12-story high Hotel Breslin was erected on the site and opened in November, 1904.
In 2008, the Ace Hotel Group, which owns collection of international boutique hotels, purchased the Hotel Breslin. The new owners worked with the architectural firm Roman and Williams to redesign the old hotel. The renovated venue opened in May 2009 as Ace Hotel New York, with 300 rooms.
Ace New York features stylish rooms, a cozy bar, the Koloman, French restaurant, sprawling Lobby space, decked-out gym and a gallery. There’s a subway stop right around the corner and many attraction of Manhattan are a short walk away.
