Loews Regency New York Hotel
The Loews Regency New York Hotel is located at 540 Park Avenue, northwest corner of East 61st Street, Lenox Hill, Upper East Side NYC. It opened in 1963 and has 379 rooms, including 58 suites. It is owned by Loews Hotels & Co.
The hotel was built on the site of a 12-story residential building, designed by Boring & Tilton, in Renaissance style, completed in 1908 and demolished in 1961.
The 20-story hotel was built in 1962 and opened in the early 1963 as The Regency, a Loew's hotel. The 500 rooms were divided between permanent and transient guests. The restaurant for 100 guests was "an admirable fantasy of marble and mirrors, carpets and crystals (NYT)". From 1964 to 1966, Edmond A. Rider was the general manager of the hotel.
Hotel facilities include the Regency Bar and Grill, gym, spa, meeting rooms and more. Loews Regency is just steps from the NYC's key attractions including Central Park, Museum Mile, Madison Avenue shopping, Broadway, and more.
